D S
The
D S production began in 1955 and continued to 1975, it incorporated
advanced innovation with most prominent being its full hydraulic
suspension which had adjustable height and self leveling, other
features included power steering and brakes, very comfortable seating,
ride and handling that was unmatched by any car, the turning headlights
was offered later in production. There were improvements to power and
hydraulic system along the way and variations of trim was introduced,
the main styles were the common trims of DS and ID and more luxurious
Pallas.
More detailed information about this car can be found through the Links page.
Got this DS from Canada in 2005, It is a 72 DS20 American spec car
with fixed sealed beam headlights, in good mechanical condition and
everything working, drove it back from Edmonton cruising without any
problems.
It was repainted poorly at one time and it is flaking off in spots, the
sills seem solid but door bottoms have rust, he gave me some extra
doors for replacement, the interior cloth seats are usable but will be
reupholstered when body work and paint is done. It is usable as a daily
driver as is, I don't plan on frame up restoration, need to concentrate
on the Traction and some A series cars.

Also bought the DS 21 Pallas with Citromatic at the same time, running
gear and hydraulics are good, the body is rusty and it will be used as
parts car, plan to transplant the turning headlights and pallas trim on
DS 20 and strip usable parts, the rest will go to the dump.
More to come when work starts, at the meantime I will drive and
enjoy it as is.
