OPEL

Only compact Opels were imported to U. S. and sold through Buick dealers in 60 and 70's, models included sedans, wagons, manta and GT.
I have owned a few Kadett wagons in the past including a 66 which was purchased new and always liked their simplicity and roominess, retired the last one in 88 when it was totally worn out. Past few years I have been looking for one, there are a lot of GT's around but rarely any wagons, and a few that came up was in poor rusty condition, last fall found one in reasonable shape that has been in dry storage for over 20 years, it is running and no missing trim, the chrome is good and overall will be an easy job to turn it into a presentable driver.
It has AC with huge compressor as used on large GM cars, will replace it with a smaller modern unit and change to R134.
